Composer's Note:
“Truth be Told” is a slow, contemplative piece. A study in contrasts. Woodwinds vs Brass, many instruments vs a few instruments, the mixing of different textures. It is dominated by a hauntingly, beautiful main melody. Beneath this melody, and consequent other melodies are a myriad of moving lines. It may sound simple enough, but there is a lot to this selection. Exercises in dynamics ( this song should never get too loud), blend, balance and of course intonation. Much to take in. A wonderful teaching tool for control."
