TO THE ENDS OF SPACE sun cover copy.1.jpeg

"To The Ends Of Space"
       by Amy Webb

Notes from the composer: The event horizon is the boundary around a black hole from which nothing (not even light) can escape. The work begins placidly enough, evocative of an (imaginary) trip through space and time. Then, a pause: what is that the scientists see on the screen? Could it be a black hole? Cue the fast part of the piece with the sound of a news broadcast fanfare and the sound of hundreds of old-time typewriters documenting the find. The media encompasses the scientists and peoples imaginations run wild. Finally, the end brings us back to the beginning -- what else is out there to discover?

A wonderful addition to any concert. This piece is well written and playable.
Amy Webb brings this timely piece to market as we begin looking father into space that ever previously imagined.
