"Hometown Heros"
       by Thomas Juzwiak, ASCAP

Composer's Note:

“This piece pays homage to my hometown of Bound Brook, NJ. Each year around Veterans Day the administrator for the “I grew up in Bound Brook” face book page honors and features Bound Brook natives who served in the armed forces. This march is for them. Among them my father in law.

It starts with a whistle blowing to start the drum cadence ( I used what I could remember from my own High School drum cadence). After a short bit comes the roll off into the march itself. It moves very briskly at 120 bpm. The main theme is all tongued as well as the counter melody when it comes in. A challenging bit of playing. After going through a B and C section the drum cadence comes back with one last roll off into the main theme, then up a half step to the end.

A rousing march from start to finish, it puts the audience outside watching the marching band go by in a parade. A fitting tribute to those who served."

Suitable for high school and above, this new and original concert band march will create a lasting impression on both the performers as well as the audience. Enjoy!
