Bound Brook March Sun CoverJ.jpeg

"Bound Brook March"
       by Thomas Juzwiak

Composer's Note:

This one is in 2/4. It is called “Bound Brook March”. Bound Brook is the small town in New Jersey where I grew up. This march pays homage to that little town with lots of history. First settled in 1681, the “Counsel Tree” where the settlers bought the land from the local Native Americans is still alive!!

In 1777 The “Battle of Bound Brook” was fought there during the American revolutionary war. George Washington himself camped there.

It is the very first place where the Flag sewn by Betsy Ross was raised.

It is the town where the Graham Cracker was invented.

In it’s recent history, Bound Brook has made news several times for it’s devastating flooding following several major storms and hurricanes. The house where I grew up was flooded out 2 times because of it’s location directly in front of one of the 4 brooks that surround the town (Hence the name Bound Brook)

We have produced some star athletes as well as several television personalities.

The music itself as I mentioned is in 2/4 time. The main theme is introduced then a counter melody is added. The several sections of the piece, including a key change at the end are linked together by a 4 measure “riff”.

I believe it to be my best march yet written.

We at Warming Sun Music Publishing agree and are very excited to present “Bound Brook March” by Thomas Juzwiak.
